Propio’s Integration with Epic EHR

So, to help close any language gaps with patients, we offer an easy, app-based integration with your Epic platform. Our integration enables providers to access Propio interpreters or translation services within their EHR platform, which can enhance patient communication, improve workflow efficiency, and maintain full regulatory compliance.
Interpretation
Our integration with Epic connects clinical staff with medically-qualified, HIPAA-compliant Propio interpreters who represent more than 300 languages, at any time. And the provider conveniently never has to leave the patient’s chart to schedule or initiate the Video-Remote (VRI) or Over-the-Phone (OPI) interpretation call, as all functionalities can be seamlessly integrated within Epic. Clients can choose to either launch an instance of the Propio ONE app within the Epic platform or, through our Propio ONE Request an Interpreter App, can connect to a Propio interpreter from an ongoing video visit in Epic.
The Propio ONE app even goes as far as to automatically chart Joint Commission Language requirements in the form of a progress note. This includes date, time, preferred language, call duration, and interpreter ID.

Translation
In addition to our Interpretation services, we provide translation solutions for our Epic integration. Propio also supports integrated translation workflows through Epic. Users can submit documents for translation directly within the EHR by entering a reference number, deadline, source and target languages, and then uploading the file. A translation request summary is automatically generated, and users can track progress in real time. Completed translations are delivered back into the patient’s chart, ensuring timely, accessible communication for limited English-speaking patients.
Propio’s translation services cover over 200 languages and can be supported with human translation and review or AI-assisted translation with human post-editing, as agreed. All services are ISO 17100 certified, HIPAA-compliant, and support ACA Section 1557 requirement, and create a seamless experience for any non-English speaking patient.
